I began this painting months before its final form was revealed. During a day trip to Atlantic City, I picked up a tank top on the boardwalk and wore it until it accidentally went through the dryer and shrank. Rather than let it go, I gave it new life within this piece. I love weaving fragments of my own clothing into my work—it feels like stitching personal history into the canvas, transforming memory into texture and color.
