Drink is a mixed media work on wood panel inspired by my admiration for Paul Gauguin and my fascination with the ever-shifting nature of water. I layered painted passages with collage elements, letting vibrant earth tones flow into cool blues and greens, much like a stream changing course. The grazing dog at the water’s edge is a quiet focal point—an echo of Gauguin’s tropical reverence for place—while textured brushstrokes and abstract overlays invite you to feel the push and pull between land, water, and sky. In creating this piece, I wanted to capture both the movement and stillness of a moment when life pauses to drink.
