In this piece, I merged elements of my abstract photography with ink and artist’s charcoal. Charcoal has become one of my essential tools—it helps me define shapes but can be easily erased. It requires a final fixative to preserve its mark. Unsure of a title, I asked friends for their impressions and chose the one that resonated most with me.

My time living in Barcelona (1985-1986) profoundly influenced my artistic sensibility; it was there that I first fell in love with Miró, Picasso, Dalí, and Gris—artists whose influence still inspires me.
