Mixed media collage | Acrylic paint canvas | 11” x 14” | 2007
The primary collage elements in this work originate from a brochure for an exhibition I attended at The Museum of Modern Art in New York, as well as advertising from a type foundry. Unlike many of my other pieces, I chose to leave much of the printed material visible, allowing the original fragments to play a central role. Compared to others in the series, this work has fewer layers of paint, giving it a more direct and immediate quality. It is part of my ongoing series, The Trees.
